Overview
Zeroboolean does not receive your screenshots, captured page content, annotation text, or local capture history.
The extension does not require an account and contains no advertising, behavioral analytics, tracking pixels, or screenshot-upload service. Its capture, stitching, editing, redaction, history, and export features operate within Chrome on the user's device.
Data handled locally
When you explicitly start a capture or use the editor, the extension may handle:
- Visible website content and rendered webpage pixels.
- The captured page URL, title, domain, dimensions, and capture timestamp.
- Screenshot images, thumbnails, editor layers, crops, and redactions.
- Annotation text and selected emoji stickers.
- A background image you select while the screenshot editor is open.
- Extension preferences such as capture delays, filename templates, export quality, and history limits.
This data is handled only to provide the screenshot features you request. It is not sold, shared with advertisers, or transmitted to Zeroboolean.
Website access
The extension requests access to ordinary webpages so it can measure the document, scroll through it, capture visible pixels, temporarily suppress repeated fixed or sticky elements, and restore the original scroll position. This access begins only after you click the extension toolbar icon, use its keyboard shortcut, or choose its capture command.
The extension does not continuously monitor browsing activity. Chrome prevents extension capture scripts from running on protected browser-internal pages such as chrome:// pages and the Chrome Web Store.
Local storage and Chrome Sync
Screenshot images, thumbnails, annotations, URLs, titles, timestamps, and editor history are stored in the extension's local IndexedDB database on the device. The selected background image is kept in browser memory while the editor is open and is included only in exports you request.
Extension preferences use Chrome's Storage Sync API. Depending on your Chrome profile and sync settings, Chrome may synchronize those preferences between your signed-in browsers under Google's Chrome Sync service. Screenshot images and local capture history are not placed in Chrome Storage Sync.
Permissions explained
Retention and deletion
Local captures remain on the device until you delete them, clear capture history, reach the configurable history-retention limit, or remove the extension. You can delete a single capture or clear all captures from the History page.
Downloaded exports are ordinary files controlled by you and remain wherever your browser saved them. Clipboard contents are controlled by the operating system and destination application.
Third-party services
This version does not connect to Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, analytics providers, advertising networks, or remote image-processing services. Cloud destination notices shown in Settings are disabled and do not transmit data.
The public product website is static and does not use cookies, analytics, advertising scripts, account systems, or form submissions. Your hosting provider may maintain standard infrastructure logs under its own terms.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
All data handled through Chrome permissions is used only to provide or improve the extension's single user-facing purpose: full-page screenshot capture, editing, redaction, local history, and export.
- Data is not sold or transferred to third parties.
- Data is not used for personalized, retargeted, or interest-based advertising.
- Data is not used for creditworthiness or lending decisions.
- Zeroboolean personnel cannot access locally stored capture data.
Security
All executable code is packaged with the Manifest V3 extension. The extension does not download or execute remotely hosted code. Image assembly, editing, redaction, PDF creation, and ZIP creation occur within the extension.
If a future version introduces optional cloud transfer or materially different data handling, the extension interface, Chrome Web Store disclosures, and this policy will be updated before that feature is released.
Your choices
You control when a capture starts, which annotations are added, whether auto-save is enabled, what is copied or downloaded, and how long local history is retained. You can delete local data through the History page or remove the extension through Chrome.
